Steve's 'Thoughts on Flash' Adobe Smack-Down

I wanted to jot down some of our thoughts on Adobe’s Flash products so that customers and critics may better understand why we do not allow Flash on iPhones, iPods and iPads. Adobe has characterized our decision as being primarily business driven – they say we want to protect our App Store – but in reality it is based on technology issues. Adobe claims that we are a closed system, and that Flash is open, but in fact the opposite is true. Let me explain.
Yup, it's Steve Jobs spending a few thousand words in an attempt to kill Adobe Flash.
I disagree with one thing he writes -- I think Microsoft applications cause more crashes on Macs than Adobe Flash does -- although I admit it is a foot-race. My rule of thumb -- never run two Microsoft or (if avoidable) two Adobe products at once if you want your Mac to continue to function productively.
As for Flash, recently I installed ClickToFlash, a plug-in for Safari that alters Web pages so that flash items don't appear or play until they are clicked by you. Works wonders and does seem to speed things up.
Sorry to say, Adobe, Steve tends to win these battles. I guess we all need to go brush up on our HTML5.
