Ford: Focus Electric Will Kick The Chevy Volt's AssJust revealed today at CES, the Focus Electric is Ford's first fuel-free, rechargeable passenger car. More importantly, it will supposedly offer a mile-per-gallon equivalent fuel economy that's better than the Chevrolet Volt and competitive with other battery electric vehicles. How?

I can't afford the $1499 charging station, much less the all-electric car, but it is definitely fun to see American automakers innovating at this level.

It's been well over a century, and long enough for the oil age; this country could lead the world in a transition from fossil fuels to renewables -- and creative jobs and wealth in the process.
