As an employer of creative folks, this doesn't surprise me. I think it's probably slowing down a *bit* these days, but there does seem to be remarkable turnover out there. Not sure exactly what it is, although the reliance that many Y'ers -- even X'ers -- have on their boomer parents could be part of it.
