CHART: The iPad Is Already Bigger Than The iPod -- And Half As Big As The Mac
I may be the last person in the world to realize it, but... damn... Silicon Alley Insider can give *good chart*, eh?
Check this one out -- it shows the impact that iPad is having on Apple's bottom line after just a few short months -- apparently a device that averages $600 and that stays perpetually sold out is a good thing; iPad is already bigger than iPod in the mix (which, historically has been bigger than it is now in terms of dollars), while iPhone's performance -- bigger than Mac; bigger than iPod, Software and Peripherals combined -- makes you wonder if they should change the name of the company from "Apple Computers" to just "Apple." (Er, wait, they did that like 10 years ago.)
