I think I want this one. It may be hard to believe, but I've still got a shiny black (actually, probably matte black and faux wood) Standard Definition RCA TV in the living room upon which we watch the various and sundry things that we download stream from the box. I've wanted an HDTV for a while now, and keep telling myself that if I hit a certain milestone (this time it's sales for the Fall 2010 BOOM Jackson magazine) that I'll get one.
The funny thing is, moving to HDTV isn't a total no-brainer for me. Why? Quality of experience. The one problem you never have on an old-school TV is a lower-resolution image than the TV can handle, since SD is already at the bottom of the scale. So, the picture always looks pretty decent. Plus, images are never squeeze out of proportion or otherwise made to look silly.
